What Sets Us Apart
Coaching that honours the whole person

The Whole Human Coaching Certification isn't just another training program. It's a philosophy put into practice — one that believes every person already carries the wisdom, strength, and capacity to create the future they envision.

01
Rooted in Appreciative Inquiry

Rather than focusing on what's broken, we coach from what's already working. Our Appreciative Inquiry-based approach helps clients excavate the best of their past, harness the tools of their present, and build a vivid image of their future.

02
A Proven, Pure Coaching Model

The Whole Human Coaching Model — Define, Discover, Design — provides a clear, repeatable framework that guides every coaching conversation. Students learn to move through the model with fluency and confidence.

03
Mentor Coaching Included

Mentor coaching hours are built into your tuition — not sold as an add-on. You'll receive direct observation, expert feedback, and real-time guidance as you develop your skills.

04
ICF-Aligned from Day One

Every module is built around the ICF Core Competencies. You'll graduate with the hours, supervised practice, and the deep understanding needed to pursue your ACC credential — ready and confident to coach professionally.

05
Live, Relational Learning

This is not self-paced content. Every session is live and online, creating a community of learners who grow together, practice together, and hold each other to the standard of excellence that defines a Whole Human coach.

06
Generative, Strengths-Based Language

David Cooperrider, creator of Appreciative Inquiry, teaches that the questions we ask shape the world we see. We train coaches to ask the questions that open doors — language that evokes awakening, possibility, and transformation.

The Whole Human Method
The Whole Human Coaching Model

At the heart of every coaching session is a clear, purposeful structure. The Whole Human Model is a three-part framework that honours the client's story, unlocks their existing wisdom, and equips them to build the future they want to create.

This model is not a rigid script — it is a living conversation structure that creates the conditions for transformation.

D
Define

Every coaching conversation begins here. Together, coach and client define the topic, identify the focus — always framed as what the client wants to create, build, or discover — and establish a clear, measurable outcome.

Topic Focus Outcome
D
Discover

Rooted in Appreciative Inquiry, the Discover phase explores the best of the client's past, identifies the strengths and tools they carry in the present, and opens the territory of what is possible for the future.

Best of the Past Present Strengths Future Possibility
D
Design

Design is where insight becomes action. Coaches help clients name their new awareness, identify the supports and strengths available to them, and make concrete commitments toward their desired future.

Our Foundation
Coaching grounded in Appreciative Inquiry

Appreciative Inquiry is not just a technique — it is a worldview. Developed by David Cooperrider, Appreciative Inquiry is built on the understanding that human systems grow in the direction of what they study. When coaching focuses on strengths, possibilities, and what is already working, clients access their deepest capacity to create generative, lasting change.

Appreciative Inquiry Coaching is effective for leaders in business and organizations, community development, educational institutions, and individuals navigating personal transitions. It is the truest form of empowerment — the coach facilitates the process for the client to unearth their own answers.

01
The Constructionist Principle

We live in the realities created by our conversations and the stories we tell ourselves. Language is not just description — it creates what we see, what we believe is possible, and what we build.

02
The Positive Principle

Positive emotions and images of the future inspire action and sustain momentum. Coaching conversations that are generative and appreciative open clients to other ways of seeing, living, and talking about difficulty.

03
The Poetic Principle

A person's story is always open to re-interpretation and re-authoring. The questions we ask, the topics we inquire into, are implicit in the direction our conversations take.

04
The Anticipatory Principle

The most important resource for creating a better future is the positive image of that future itself. Appreciative Inquiry coaching helps clients build vivid, compelling visions of what they want to create.

Common Questions
Questions we hear often

Whether you're a seasoned leader, a professional looking to expand your impact, or someone called to coaching as a career — here are answers to the questions that come up most.

Who is this program for?
Leaders & Managers

If you lead people, you already know that telling isn't always the answer. This program teaches you to lead through powerful questions — building cultures where people feel heard, take ownership, and grow. Coaching skills are among the highest-value tools a leader can develop.

HR & People Professionals

Professionals in HR, organizational development, and talent management find that coaching certification deepens their ability to support employee development, navigate difficult conversations, and facilitate meaningful change across organizations.

Consultants & Facilitators

If you already work with organizations and individuals as a consultant, facilitator, or advisor, adding a coaching credential elevates your practice. Coaching skills allow you to go beyond advice-giving and unlock deeper transformation in the people and teams you serve.

Aspiring Professional Coaches

For those called to coaching as a profession, this program provides the hours, the framework, the mentored practice, and the credential pathway needed to launch a thriving coaching business — grounded in a model that produces real, lasting results for clients.

Educators & Community Leaders

Coaches in educational and community settings use Appreciative Inquiry-based coaching to support people navigating transitions, build resilience, and unlock possibility. The Whole Human approach is equally powerful in classrooms, nonprofits, and community development contexts.

Those Navigating a Life Transition

Many students come to this program at a turning point — a career change, a new chapter, a desire to do more meaningful work. The certification is both a professional credential and a profound personal development experience. You will be changed by this work.

About the program
Do I need prior coaching experience to enroll?

No prior coaching experience is required. This program is designed to take you from the foundations of coaching competencies through to confident skilled practice. Students come from all walks of life – what matters most is a genuine commitment to the development of others.

What is the time commitment each week?

The program runs over 4 months and includes four hour Saturday Intensives (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM EDT) once a month, plus three weeknight sessions (Tuesdays 7 – 9:30 PM EDT) per month. Outside of scheduled sessions, students are required to practice coaching conversations in small groups and with outside clients. Additional asynchronous time will be tracked through weekly participation in Discussion Forums in the Learning Management System. You can count on approximately 5-6 hours per week, including time spent in self-reflection and review of materials.

Is all learning live, or is there self-paced content?

All scheduled sessions are live and online. Coaching is a relational skill — it develops through practice, demonstration, and real-time feedback. This is not a self-paced video course. Every class is a live learning environment designed for connection, practice, and community. You will have the opportunity join the Discussion Forums, review recorded classes and content at your own pace.

What is Mentor Coaching and why is it included?

Mentor Coaching means you receive direct observation of your coaching, expert feedback on your skills, and individual guidance from an experienced Mentor Coach. This is a requirement of an ICF (International Coaching Federation) accredited program. We believe it is essential to developing coaches who are truly ready to work with clients. You will participate in Group Mentor Coaching and receive three 1:1 sessions with a Mentor Coach.

What will I receive upon completion?

Upon successful completion you will receive the Whole Human Coaching Certificate, showing you are now a Certified Whole Human Coach. This program is structured as a Level 1 accredited training and provides you with the education hours and mentor coaching required to pursue your ACC Credential through the International Coaching Federation. You will graduate with all that you need to be a professional coach.

What is the investment and are payment plans available?

The total program investment is $3,500 USD, which includes all training hours and Mentor Coaching. You can secure your place with a $700 deposit.

How is this different from other coach training programs?

Most coaching programs teach a general coaching framework. The Whole Human Coaching Certification is grounded in Appreciative Inquiry — a research-backed, strengths-based approach to human development — combined with the Whole Human Coaching Model (Define, Discover, Design). The result is a coaching practice that is both rigorous and deeply human: one that helps clients access their own wisdom rather than depending on the coach for answers.

I'm not sure if coaching is the right path for me. How do I know if this is a fit?

The best way to find out is to have a conversation. Reach out to us at wholehuman.global and we'll connect you with someone who can answer your questions honestly — not to sell you, but to help you make the right decision for where you are and where you want to go.

What happens if I miss a class?

You can miss a maximum of 3 live sessions. If you miss a session, you will: 1) notify the facilitators as soon as possible 2) review the recording within one week 3) write a short summary on what you learned from the recording and submit to the facilitators within a week of the missed class.
